Our visit continues with the most important temple in Inca culture. El Qorikancha is the very center of a complex religious network, making Cusco the sacred hub of the Incas. Here you can marvel at the architectural and engineering feats displayed by the Incas.

SACSAYHUAMAN

This is an archeological center for the Incas. This ceremonial temple, Sacsayhuamán, with its megalithic walls is the zenith of Inca architecture. This site also provides panoramic views of Custo, a little over one mile away.

QENQO

This is an Inca place of worship, dedicated to its magical properties. Some points of interest are the semicircular amphitheater and underground galleries.

TAMBOMACHAY

This temple is designated to the Water Cult. It is also a special place where the Chief of the Imperial Incas could take respite. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals, and waterfalls. The water source travels through the rocks and the source is still unknown.

PUCAPUCARA

This is a military fortress composed of monumental walls, terraces, and grand staircases. This fortress is one of many in the defense system for the Incas.
