Discover the best of the best in Cusco with this 5 day adventure, arrive in Cusco and travel to the wonderful Sacred Valley, experience Pisac with the grand ancient site on the top of the hill, buy all your presents at the local market, explore the Salt mines of Maras, discover the ancient Inca garden at Moray and later the Inca Fortess of Ollantaytambo. Next hike the Short Inca Trail through the mountains to Winay Wayna and then to the Sungate with some of the best views and onto Machu Picchu, one of the best examples of Inca architecture that you will see.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at the airport of Cusco, your tour guide will meet you at the airport and drive you to your centrally located hotel. Later in the afternoon, at 13.0o pm, you will start a walking tour in the center of Cusco, visiting the most remarkable places like Plaza de Armas, Koricancha, and important streets. Next, you will drive to Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. The tour will finish back at your hotel.

Hotel pick-up in Ollantaytambo  we will get on a train to the “km 104” of the Inca trail where we will visit the Chachabamba archaeological site and then start our trek. From this point you will be able to observe beautiful mountains part of the Andean mountain range as well as the flora and fauna of Machupicchu. After a 3-hour walk we will reach the Wiñayhuayna archaeological site, also known as Small Machu Picchu, where we will have a packed lunch. We will then continue our walk towards the “Sun Gate”, where you can admire a wonderful view of Machu Picchu, and finally walk down to the Machu Picchu archaeological site and take the “classic” Machu Picchu photos. Lastly, we will board a bus towards the village of Aguas Calientes, where your hotel and a restaurant dinner will await you.

On our last day we will have to catch a very early bus (5:30 am) to the Machupicchu archaeological site (30 minutes). The site opens at 6:00 am and we will head towards the “guardian house” which is the perfect spot for “postcard” pictures and offers one of the best views. We will then start our guided tour, which will last approximately 2 hours, where we will visit the most important sites. After the tour you will have time to visit Machu Picchu on your own. You also have the option to climb the Huayna Picchu or Montaña Machupicchu mountains (these have to be reserved in advance).
In the afternoon we will get on the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and from there you will be provided with private transport to your hotel in Cusco.
