The lares hike and the short Inca trail is the best combination that a tourist can walk, because they are two different places. The first one reaches a height of (4,800 m/15,840 ft.) where tourists can have the best experience and view of the mountains, glaciares and lagoons and also the connection with the local that are descendants of the Incas. Day 1: hard.
After picking up guests from their hotels in Cusco at 6:00 AM we will head towards Pumahuanca, where we will begin our unique adventure we will pass through an Inca place Inca Racay. Hike Pumahuanca – Pacchayoc – cuyoc.

Day 2: challenge.
we will start our walk over the mountains until the SICLLAK’ASA pass which is a sacred place. This climb is the most strenuous we will encounter. After a small ceremony in honor of the mountains and the Pacha Mama (mother earth). Hike Cuyoc – Sicllak’asa – Kunkani and car to hot spring.

Day 3: easy.
We will get up very early to have our breakfast and then take our transport to
Ollantaytambo. town where we will catch a train to kilometer 104 where star our hiking.

Day 4: Machupicchu.
For our last day we will have to catch a early bus at to reach the MACHU PICCHU archaeological site (30 minutes by bus). The site opens at 6:00 am and we will firstly head towards the “guardian house” which is the perfect spot for “postcard” pictures and some of the best views.

- We recommend our hikers to arrive in Cusco 2 or 3 days before their trek. This will allow you to acclimatize to the height so as not to have problems in the walk.
- In Cusco we have only one main airport, most flights arrive from Lima to Cusco, which is the most recommended and easiest for our tourists.
- The trip from Lima to Cusco by bus is quite long approximately 22 hours and it is not recommended that you travel directly to Cusco. If you want to do it, we recommend that you do it by sections Lima – Nazca – Arequipa – Puno and Cusco.
- In Cusco we have many hotels located throughout the city of Cusco. If you need help booking a hotel or would like some recommendations on where to stay, do not hesitate to contact us.
- Arriving in Cusco you have extra days before or after your walk. We are happy to help you organize some more important tours as there are tourists who want to spend more days in the imperial city of the Incas.
- We offer free pick up and transfer from the airport to your hotel in Cusco. We do this in order that you don’t have to worry about anything. Let us know in advance the airline company, the schedule and flight number that arrives in Cusco.
- Near the weather, Cusco is located at 3,350 m or 11,050 ft. which makes the weather very difficult to predict. In Cusco, we have two seasons; the rainy season, which runs from November to March, and the dry season, from April to October. We recommend the dry season that is from April to October. But for some tourists the stations don’t matter and they plan their tour according to the time they have and it is possible to organize some tours according to the weather.
- At near altitude sickness or soroche, Cusco is located at 3,350 m or 11,050 ft. Therefore, the air is short, dry and difficult to breathe for which it is recommended to arrive in Cusco 2 or 3 days in advance of the tour.

Itinerary
Our private transport will pick us up at 6 am and take us to Puma Huanca (the path of the sacred puma), (2,900 m/9,570 ft). where we will start our walk. We will observe beautiful landscapes, snow-capped peaks, pretty lakes and the beautiful forest of Chachacomos with its Polylepis trees which were used by the Inca to build roofs. Here also people wear traditional cloths, live in traditional homes and Inca constructions can be found. After our walk we will reach the village of Ccuyoc (4,200 m – 13,890 ft.) where we will spend the night.

In the morning we will start our walk towards the Sicllak’asa pass (4,800 m), where the Inca held their rituals and their offerings to the pachamama and the Apus (the sacred mountains protecting the people). Later on, we will walk down the valley, lunch we will head towards. After lunch we will take our transportation towards Lares hot springs (3,300 m/10,890 ft.) where we will get a chance to relax after our walk. These thermo-medicinal waters are very good for bones and to cure rheumatisms. Here we will spend the second night.

We will rise early at 3 am and after a light breakfast our private transport will leave at 4am.The journey towards Ollantaytambo train station takes 3 hours, here we will board a train which in 90 minutes will take us to km 104 (Chaca Bamba, the start of the walk). Here our permits will be checked, and we will observe the Vilcanota river, the Chachabamba archaeological center and a rock used to worship the sun and the Apus (sacred mountains). We will walk for 3 hours through misty lush forests and a beautiful waterfall until the Wiñayhuayna (always young) mountain, then we will keep walking passing small archaeological centers, viewpoints, until reaching Intipunku ( sun gate). From here we will get our first view of the Machupicchu. Afte classic pictures we take our bus to Aguas Calientes in a hotel where we spend the night.

After ticket control and the classic photo, our 2/3-hour guided visit will start, during which the guide will explain the Inca’s history and we will also take a look at another peak called Huaynapicchu (2,700 m/8,910ft) – this mountain is very popular so to climb it you need to book in advance. After the visit our bus will take us to the village of Aguas Calientes. In the evening, a train will take us to Ollantaytambo from where will then reach Cusco by private transport. End of the tour
