Itinerary
PLACES TO SEE IN THE SACRED VALLEY:
TIPON:
This is an archeological park showcasing the ancient Inca waterways still functioning to this day. Tipon is part of the Qhapac Ñam route, which is part of the ancient Inca road system. You will be amazed to learn about the engineering ingenuity of these agricultural waterways.
PIKILLACTA:
19 miles south of Cusco, you will find an archeological grouping dated Pre-Inca. These roads, constructed by the Wari, are still intact. Pikillacta was a very important cultural- and administrative center for the Wari between the 6th and 9th centuries. It is a wonderful example of the urban development of that area. The Huacarpay lake is also located here, which is known for its incredible bird population.
ANDAHUAYLILLAS:
We will visit its famous church, considered to be the Sistine Chapel of the Americas. Here you will see some of the most beautiful Colonial art of golden altars, murals, paintings, and multi-colored ceilings.
